Plywood is one of the most important engineered construction materials which is made from different hardwood/softwoods-Poplar/Eucalyptus/Pine/Birch etc. with multiple layers-plies, so to speak. Adjacent plies are glued together by 90 degrees according to their wood grain to enhance the strength of the structure.
This panel can be used for roofing/wall/subflooring/furniture making/toy/DIY material etc. The ideal thickness for different usage:
For roofing/wall/subflooring,5/8 inch(15mm) to 3/4 inch(18mm) will be enough.
For furniture or toy, it depends on which part you are going to apply it to.
As for the DIY, take CNC laser cutting. For example, 3mm will good enough.
Plywood structure can be roughly divided into face/back and core. Plywood can be made from only one kinda tree. For example, full poplar, which is both face/back and core are poplars.
Surely, material for the core can be different from face/back for usage consideration, we can take eucalyptus as the core but poplar face and back for higher requirements over the face and back grade.
